Engine and VSC Light

Asked by ShannonK Jun 16, 2014 at 08:33 AM about the 2006 Toyota Avalon Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My engine and VSC light stay on, we replaced the gas cap thinking maybe I need a new one, I put the new cap on make sure it is tight the light goes off and stays off for 10 miles or so then it comes back on.  Do you think I have gotten a faulty cap?  It is a Toyota gas cap, but I don't hear the vacuum release like a did before all this started.  We have taken to a garage they think maybe I have a short in the wiring?  Not so sure they haven't done the work yet as I am not sure that is the problem.

What codes are you getting when you plug in a OBD II Reader? I had an issue with corrolla and got code P0138, Replaced oxygen sensor cleared the codes and the ligths never came back on...

Other issues that I too am experiencing! Low brake fluid level Worn brake pads front or rear Warped rotors And the 2 big expensive fixes YAW SENSOR $2000 or ABS system out $1500 Did you disconnect the positive battery cable for 60 seconds? This will reset the system! It usually is not wires! Gas cap should click once to assure it is on correctly Go from cheapest solution first!
