1986 iroc problem

i just bought a 1986 iroc z with a 305 tpi with a few mods it has a k&n and a edelbrok intake i have been having problems with it when i go to stand on it,it just stumbles and starts to die i have replaced the ecm maybe 6 times in the past 2 months and just replaced the prom in it is there anybody out there who has had this problem before and knows how to fix it i have been ran around buy many people saying they can fix it but no luck i bought the car for 3k cash and have thrown another 750$ in the past two days with no results

on the tuned port injection .finding a intake is almost impossable it is best to leave these engines alone.ps i have a 305 tpi engine ant trans with under 200 miles on both trying to sell need the room in my garage .engine is stock but every part is new down to knuts and bolts,have almost $4,000 in both will take $1,500 for both.is 1986.

6 ECMs in 2 months?? You are a glutton for punishment, for sure. Try finding a stock intake and replacing it with that to see if that is part of your problem. You may have a vacuum leak or other problem with the setup. It may also be the throttle position sensor or another issue. You need to get back to basics with this one -- perhaps fuel pressure is a problem, or distributor -- losing spark under load.

There is Way too many possible problems that can occure when you start changing parts on a TPI motor. First of all, you got like a million censors, not to mention the EGR, chances are, it was blocked. I had an '86 with the LG4, with the 4 barrel Quadrajunk, And it was my first Z28, so I thought I could start pulling all the pollution shit off, put a Holley on it and found out the Hardway that you can't do that kinda stuff. Six ECM's seems crazy, did you put it on a computer? I actually never heard of a manifold that would work with the throttle body, an plenum. Put the stock one back, or Buy that guy Papa's motor, thats a good price...
