My son poured water into the gas tank.  Although we removed gas and water from tank, we still have a car that runs very poorly.  Any suggestions for getting the water out of the engine would be appreciated.

If the car was started WITH the water in the tank as in before it was drained, you could have had major motor damage done to the motor. I would suggest taking it to a local shop and having a compression test done to make sure the motor has propper compression on a cyl. If they say it does I would ask put fuel system treatment in it and either burn out whatever is causeing it or try to get the fuel system flushed.

they make "gas dryer". id try this. fuel injector cleaner i dont think will do much. also id try changing the plugs, fuel filter (i think there are two) and check the fuel pump. theres a chance that this may never right it self and its new motor time. as water gets in everything.
