Dealers not removing sold cars

Asked by Kb9nvh Feb 08, 2016 at 05:40 AM

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

It's irritating to contact a dealer only to find a vehicle you are interested is sold.
Then you continue to see that vehicle for weeks after that.  Is there a policy that
forces dealers to remove or delist sold vehicles?

No...but toy should always contact them before making a trip to see a car and realizing you just wasted your time

As a dealer, I can probably answer this best. Unless you sign up with Cargurus, they don't pull your inventory daily, or allow you to edit anything. Some dealers sign up for a free trial, and leave it at that, so the inventory never changes on here. When we signed up, I had to delete over 100 vehicles.

This situation continues in 2019. I contacted a dealer in Florida and an individual selling a car. Both cars are still being on the webpage, but both have been sold. Please, make them stop.

we need a button to report if a vehicle has been sold or not so it stops showing up as available. you can find out if its been sold, by going to the sellers site and if they have carfax on the site looking at that. it will tell you when it was sold.
