I have a 1996 Honda civic ex. The cat was clogged and car kept wanting to stall. Replaced the cat and it's still stalling but only once it warms up. And I'm at a stop. Driving is fine but has no power to get any speed. Any ideas on what it could b?

OK i'm stumped. I have a 2001 ford explorer(please keep comments about fords to yourself ). I've had 4 episodes where i was driving along with no issues and the even though i am excellerating the car stops running and the stalls out. Once i pull it to the side of the road and try to start it it back fires and qcts like it it out of gas but if you wait 30 plus minutes it will start and run for a bit longer then repeats itself a couple more times but then it will runs for days until it does it again. The check engine light is not on but the check gas cap is on. we replaced the gas cap and it is still on. The first time this happened I had it towed and the mechanic tightened the serpentine belt and fixed the manifold gasket. Does anyone have any ideas???? 14 Answers

My truck idle find revs up find only when you put it in gear and want to go it wants to die you let off the paddle and it fin you step on the gas want to chock it has no power. I have cleaned out throttle, change throttle position sensor, Map sensor and it runs the same. I have a 2000 Honda Civic Ex that the engine light is coming on. I took it to have the codes read and it came up CSF sensor so I replaced it but the light is still on. I have taken it to so many places and it is now not showing any codes!!! The ECU has been reset and the battery cables have been disconnected and reconnected. What could be the problem? I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight and it has been acting real sluggish like it doesn't want to go it does fine on the highway but when you stop at a light or stop sign and then go it acts like it doesn't want to go. The spark plugs were changed in it and then it wouldn't start then we got a new battery and it started up then died and nothing works no lights anything.
