why no heat on right side of dash until I drive 15-20 mi. left side works fine

You might have a blocked heater matrix and just some coolant is gooing through and not enought for instant heat.

don't think so,left side heats very well&quickly, seems like outside air is entering system for awhile then gets shut off & I get heat then

Might be as well a problem with the motor operating the right side vents and temperature if you have dual aircon
