Is a Pre-03 Durango a sound vehicle?

there was a recall on teh upper ball joints I believe. I have also seen some of the shift motor on the t-case fail for no reason. They are not a bad vehicle though as long as you take care of them. I wouldn't mind having one if I didn't need the use of a pickup truck all the time.

There are minor issues as with every vehicle, not sure why your asking pre 2003 tho.  Durangos are the same from 98-03 with the exception of a few minor changes including an overhaul of the interior in 2001 and some varying options with the drivetrain (2wd/4wd/AWD)
