My Benz Big Jim is really a 1986. He has been running rich and when I press on the gas black particles blow out of the exhaust. When idling the exhaust is blue-ish and smells like gas. This started after the transmission was adjusted and I never went back to the garage - not happy with the service. I need to find a solution-live in Attleboro MA and new to the area. Anyone know a trustworthy mechanic?

I don't live in that state but sounds like you might have a cracked cylinder wall or bad gasket.
