I owned a 2003 dodge Dakota 3.6L V6 SLT
Worst vehicle I have Ever owned!
@50k miles:
*Rear view mirror fell down
*Anti lock brake error
*Transmission began to skip 2nd, and 3rd gears
*Intake Manifold Gasket blew
*2nd and 4th cylinders quit firing (this was a recurring problem)
*Computer Fried (along with half the fuse box)
*Gear indicator light began to scroll through settings as I drove down the highway
*Had to have to the transmission rebuilt
*O2 sensors fried
*front left brake caliper froze (it warped the disk)
*Rear brake drums warped (I still haven't figured out this one)
@60k miles:
*13mgp avg
*had to have the transmission rebuilt (...again)
*Often died for no apparent reason while going up hill
*Had to change transmission fluid (...again)
*Brakes were almost unusable (2 settings: lightly slow down or Lock All Wheel)
*Check Engine Light would sporadically flicker and then turn off
*contents of left catalytic converter blew out the exhaust
I drove that thing like a granny and rarely towed anything! I Never crashed it, had the oil changed every 3000miles, and routinely took it to a mechanic (the best one in town)!
My 1999 Dodge Durango had similar problems with the transmission.
I Hate Dodge!
hey maybe you shouldn;t get a stupid 6 cylinder and get the magnum v8 like everyone else cheap ass
i have a 91 with a 3.9 V6. it has 384,000 miles on it. i put a timing chain in it at 300,000. still get around 21mpg no tranny prblems or anything
i have a 95 dakota with the v6 and it's the best truck i owned. it blows the doors off of my old truck, a chevy s-10. the only problem i have is a bad floet in the tank. try not beating the crap out of it next time.
