H22A1 vs. H23A1
I currently have a 92 Si Prelude, and sadly its approaching 200,000 miles. I have a available to me the H22A1 Vtec engine. My original plan was to rebuild it, then swap the engines, but the more I think about it, the more I change my mind. I have heard that the Vtec makes tuning very difficult if you have anything other than just engine (turbo, nos, etc.). So I'm now leaning towards swapping my engine for the Vtec now (yes the h22 was in running condition when it was yanked from my sister's Lude), and then rebuilding my H23, which is pretty much the same engine without the vtec, and would be easier to tune to the turbo I plan to have. (Haven't decided on the turbo yet, don't ask....)
well the h22 is a strong motor but the bottom end wont hold boost for nothing but for bout 2 months but if u use the h23 bottom end with the h22 vtec top end makes a great motor for boosting the motor and the h22 loves spray i have a 75 shot on mine just bolt on and if i go any higher i gotta get my motor tuned for it
