CD player stopped working.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Cleaned, so no dust or moisture.  Am I stuck going to dealer to fix?

you can replace it yourself if you get another working player. I had the same problem and yanked the whole cd changer/player unit from a junker. i dont know how much they run cuz i have a whole junker to pull parts from. All you have to do is pull at interior of the trunk and you can remove it with the right socket + screwdrivers.

I actually found out that my CD player works still but I was using copied CDs instead of originals. Copies were not formatted correctly although they played for two years without a problem...then all of a sudden they didn't. :-)
