Has anyone heard of the camshaft drive sprocket bolts coming loose and falling into the timing drive gears.

Yes - Usually makes noise before that though. These engines are also known for oil burning

My 89 Trooper 2.6L 4 cyl has 159,000 miles on it. It runs great but after it warms up and I stop at intersections, the engine idles up and down between 1500 and 2000 rpms. Any ideas? 1 answer

When warm the engine idles up and down, 1500 to 2000 rpms.
