You may have burnt out your fuel pump if it truly went dry. Without fuel in the tank, the pump will overheat. After adding a few gallons to the tank, turn the key to the "run" position and listen for the pump to run. If no sound from the tank, you will need to change it out. If you do hear it, let it run for about 10-15 seconds and then turn the key to "start". If the engine will crank but not run, diagnose your "no start" problem at the engine. (air, fuel, spark all needed).
