I have a 2005 Porsche Cayenne that makes a loud clunk when changing gears what is it

Could be the kardan shaft bearing is on the way out. Known issue on this model. You can easily check yourself. Look under the car and identify the drive shaft. In the middle of the driveshaft, you can see a bearing, see if you can push or pull the shaft sideways in this bearing to detect if there is play in it. Inspect the rubber bearing carrier for cracks. If so, there are aftermarket fixes for this, its a very easy DIY, took me about 40 mins to do. If not that, it could also be time to service your transmission and driveline components (transfer case, differentials, trasnmission flush and new filter)
