I have a '05 Turbo with Continental TS810 snows (235/265) on.  It is my daily driver (when my bimmers are in the shop) and so far it can handle days with 15 cm snow falls without any problem.  As a matter of fact, I enjoy driving my Turbo in snow more than my bimmers (5 and 7 series) because of the AWD and the rear bias weight distribution.  The Turbo can surprise all the unsuspected pick-up trucks who think all-seasons tires will do - just leave them in the dust as usual.  If you are concerned about ground clearance, I haven't found it to be an issue just yet, the front lip can take quite a beating (and is replaceable), although a lowered car may have serious problem (mine has stock north american spec. front springs vs. euro spec.).  The car tracks well and remains stable in high speed (sensible).  I don't think there is a problem using this 911 as daily driver in the winter, and I live in Toronto, Canada.

thanks for the info. I've got a 2008 Carrera 4s. So far I keep it garaged in the winter and drive an older SUV - mostly to keep the salt off the car. I do miss my c4s in the winter though.
