Seat Belt Warning Beep

My 05 M3 does not give me the warning beep when you don't put on your seat belt. I get the warning light on the dash but not the beeping that comes on and does not go off until you fasten your seat belt. Is this unique to the M3, the M models or is something wrong with my beeping?
