2008 Tundra stock radio going out at 3xxx miles???WTF

I have a 2008 Tundra 4.7 4wd. The stock radio volume knob sometimes doesn't work unless you tap on the toyota logo on the top of it. Also sometimes turns itself off on it's own, the lights on it flicker,  and sometimes the screen shows some crazy text. I have added an aftermarket sub and amp but is only tapped into the rear speaker wires for signal on high input. Power and remote wire are tapped into fuse box to an open port. Dealer says that voided my warranty, even though the radio was having problems before speakers. The finance guy told me that the sub wouldn't void my waranty, that's the only reason I went through with it.
