speedometer not working

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

the rpm is working but not the speedometer, if it a cable or a fuse?

hi Cindy, It sounds like it could be the vehicle speed sensor. The speed sensor is located on the transmission near the axle on the passenger side and lot of times the sensor gets corroded or the wires disconnect. If the wires and sensors look like they are in decent shape then most likely it is just a faulty sensor. The reason that I say its the speed sensor is because if it was a faulty fuse or wire in the dash then most likely the RPM counter would not be working either.
