My Frankenyota 4Runner

Thought I'd share my "1984 Toyota 4Runner".  Originally started with a 1984 Toyota Xtra cab 4x4.  Rolled it when I was 18... threw another cab on it.  THen I decided I wanted an SUV.  So last year I bought a shortbed truck frame from a 1985 part-out and a 1987 4Runner body from Craigslist.

Made some "adjustments" to the body mounts of the '85 frame so the '87 4Runner tub would fit.  Got the two to work out nicely, threw all the guts from my 84 xtracab into this new Frankenyota 4Runner and threw the old x-cab truck away.

After CHP gave me a new VIN and I cussed at some DMV employees, I have it registered as a specially-constructed vehicle.  By law, its not a Toyota 4Runner or a Toyota anything for that matter... its just "SPCNS CA".  Anyway, thought I'd share my Frankenyota with 4Runner enthusiasts.  Lemme know what ya think.  My name's Dan and  I love talkin Yota.  Always willing to dive into details about my projects too.
