Can I use an engine/motor from a 1998 Jaguar XJ8 and put it into a 1999 Jaguar XJ8

I own both a 1998 Jaguar XJ8 and a 1999 Jaguar XJ8. The motor in the
98 is still a good motor as we had it replace a couple of years ago. This
car does need a considerable amount of other types of repairs and so we
have chosen not to fix the car. With that said, I now need a motor for my
1999 Jaguar XJ8 and so I need to know if they are compatible... And if
they can simply be taken out of one and put into the other without any
additional parts, cost, etc.

I'm not sure about the interchange, but I have a 1998 jaguar XJ8 with everything else all set and updated, looks great, ran beautifully, 80,000 original miles, now it needs a new engine. The mechanic was over the moon on his quote, after I spent so much on tires, alignment, brakes etc to the tune of 6000. I'm in love with my Jaguar, but not so in love that I can afford another $7,400. To put into it. Maybe you will buy my car and put your engine in it. It is a beautiful vehicle, British racing green exterior with tan leather interior, has a custom cover. If you or anyone you know would like to purchase this or know of someone in the Boston, South Shore area who might want to, or who have an engine that is more affordable, that would be great! 617-650-8597Carol and Bill
