'01 2.7T Manual - Strange Whistling/Humming Noise...
Has anybody else had this problem?
I love me the sound of a turbo, that high whistle you get when you accelerate hard. My A6, however, has been
doing a little more than just that. If I accelerate hard enough (in any gear, except maybe reverse, which I haven't
tested), I will get a strange, lower-pitched whistle/hum coming from the front of the car. It almost sounds like
the horn is firing automatically, but I tested that and found that the horn is MUCH louder and more annoying. So
this is... A mystery.
Are the turbos about to poop?
