Audi Seat Belt Chime Re-programming

Is there someone out there who can re-program my seat belt chime to Shut TheF*$% Up!! I can't even put my
briefcase or a bag of groceries on the front passenger seat, cuz the car thinks someone is sitting there & starts
HOWLING for the seat belt to be fastened.  I can't even take my lunch break in the car.  IF I want to eat lunch
listening to the radio, even with the car in park, I MUST have my seatbelt on or the thing starts screaming.
Please- someone.. stop the madness.

Removing the seat belt chime is super easy but you need a VAG-COM tool to do so.  The dealer might be able to help you but they will charge you.  Where are you located and I might be able to help you.

Dealer says no way- insists it is against the law.  Local tuners won't help either.  I know if I could just find someone with that computer...
I am in New Jersey, right outside of Manhattan.

the dealer may be right, but it can still be done. most tuners wont have the program but any reputable vw shop will... i found a few in jersey but i dont know if they are close.  try this... goto Audizine.com and sign up.  once you are a member find members "jasondmaguire" or "joeycuccaro". they are in jersey and always will to help people out. if you search around you may find more.  also check out the forums. there is an endless amount of info you can find on your car. theres a whole tristate forum in the regionals section of people in your area who can help out.

oh and print this out... just in case they don't know how to take off the chime:

Removing Seatbelt Chime

[Select]
[17 - Instruments]
[Coding - 07]
[Long Coding Helper]
Click on each of the Byte numbers in step 3) and you'll see the selectable options below.
Uncheck the box for "Seatbelt Warning active"
[Do It!]

that should tell them enough.

Pretty soon, I'm going reach my hand up under the dash, and start ripping crap out until that chime STOPS!

I hear you Denny- It is such a shame that this outstanding vehicle is cursed by that blasted seat belt alert.  IT drives me nuts, and I can't
wait to silence it permanently.  Whatever it takes.
