You have to have the car running and there should be a dip stick near the lower part of the transmission
dedell answered 10 months ago
It does not have a dip stick .Its a plug on the tranny the only way to check it must on level ground or a hoist and remove the plug .If the oil come out its full if none come out it can b low. best to take to a trynny shop or the dealer . Good lock
Frank answered 10 months ago
dedell is correct ... vw and audi do not make it convenient for the car owner to check the transmission fluid level. Keeps you going back to dealer ... plus it takes a special tranny fluid that costs about $20.00 per litre

consuming a lot of oil. 7 answers
I've owned my 03 jetta for 2 1/2 months, just check oil, and it was down 3 quarts. The dealership told me this consumption level was normal for vw's. Not sure I believe that. Anyone?
