Looking for someone to tell break down a vin for me

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can anyone tell me what year & motor my BUG is?
Vin # 1342556836
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

sure...1 (first) is world manufacturer (one above America...2nd and 3rd are Make (Volkswagen)....4 the type of restraint system used, (hydraulic brakes for example),5,6,7 are car specifics,line series, body style.. 8 is engine, 10th is year, 11th is the assembly plant that built it, 12-17 is number made...hope that helps you, Any other questions, or more detailed send me a message
