We just got a 1987 Cabriolet. Are these cars safe to drive?

We're new drivers, so I was wondering if these cars are safe and reliable for our (not so)
spectacular skills. It seems to be in petty great shape, if you don't count in some minor
cosmetic details. We LOVE the car, but I'm mainly worried about safety. Is it a good
first car? Thank you for any and all help you can give!!

Vw have very good safety standard so it is not an issue of security, just keep the safety measures you need always on mind and drive safely
