My gas gauge doesnt work on my 1985 Chevy K10. I'm pretty sure it's due to a bad sending unit. How hard is it to replace the sending unit and is it easier to drop the tank or take off the bed?

its easier to drop the tank the take the bed off just take a jack and some boards and then remove the two straps holding it up and ease the jack down it you got fuel in the tank

side note, take the stupid plastic skid plate (that holds water and moisture for your metal tank to sit in) off while you're under there and drill some holes in it or remove completely and burn it.  you'll save from dropping the tank again to replace the rusted hole thats in the bottom.lol
