There was a 2 + 2 in 1976. I think they carried it over in the next generation. I bought my 2- seater in 1976 for $7200 and change. For comparison, a Corvette was 10K. The Z was a far superior car in terms of storage and ride, although it wasn't rocket powered like the Vette. I recall my banker, a very old man about 40, telling me I was nuts to pay $7200 for a "Jap car" and didn't I know I could get a Cadillac for the same price? Loved it! Although I wrapped it up to 100mph on a back road once, and it felt like it was coming apart. I was 21, and was amazed to learn that the girls were not impressed. They preferred a Camaro.
