my engine was running a little flat for a while, i didnt seen to have any power until about 5k rpm. all of a sudden my engine went rappid, having both power bands. does this mean my engine is on the way out, in a calm before the storm kinda way?

Hi Keith, Noticed this was a while back so you probably have a solution by now? The plenums can be troublesome on these but it's always worth checking the 2 VIS motors fitted to the plenum first. Basically they have little plastic cog wheels inside that wear. Lots of good info at http://forums.xpowerforums.com/

I have a 1980 MGB which has been showing overheating without a clear cause. I had lost fluid and could not identify where from. Yesterday was very cool in Northeast and I drove with the interior heater on for five minutes and stopped for a few minutes . I purchased a head gasket kit from Moss and it comes with 8 rubber o-rings. I assume they are to install on valve stems. However the y are to small to be held by the spring retainer. How are they held 2 Answers

What holds these o-rings up on valve? I have the other rubber oil restrictors that are held in place by valve spring retainer cap.
