how do I install a brake controller in 2005 Envoy

I have a 2005 Envoy and need to install a brake controller. The vehicle has a plug under the driver dash. Is there a plug I can get to make installation easy, or do I have to go in and cut and splice wires.

I am assuming that you are talking about an electronic trailer brake controller? In that case you usually have to cut and splice.
