Mines did the same thing. One guy told me I need to replace my transmission. My vehicle was driving fine I don't understand how the transmission could have just went out like that. I need Answers and Help. Don't know if he's trying to take advatage of me or not.

Is the check engine or service engine soon light on. Regardless, it needs to be checked for codes. There are solenoids that control the pressure of fluid for the shifts as well as solenoids to control the actual shift. These can fail or the prints on them can fail and you could loose all selected ranges in the transmission. Far cheaper to replace these than transmission. I just finished one. I changed the pressure shift solenoid and lockup solenoid to correct erratic shifting. Total cost to customer 550.49 and no more issues. He too was told it needed a new transmission or a rebuild which around here runs about $2500-$3500
