engine swap into a 73 roadrunner

Asked by Dominicktoreno Jun 28, 2015 at 04:55 PM about the 1973 Plymouth Road Runner

Question type: Car Customization

I have recently obtained a 73 roadrunner with a stock 400 big block with a 4 speed
transmission and 8 3/4 rear end all numbers matching. I want to replace the engine with
something newer so if  I do have to resell it I can put the original engine back with it. Does
anyone know an engine that I could drop in with minimal trouble?

I am just looking to find a cheap engine that would work. My idea was to get a "junk" engine and make it a nice daily driver that wont break the bank on gas.
