put old fuel in my mondeo 1995 2.5 si now wont start

Help i had a petrol can with unleaded fuel in it and put in my car now car wont start  heeeeeeeeeeeelp

how much fuel did you put in it,if just a couple gallons,put 5 gallons of fresh gas in it,should fire up.

Hi Thanks for the reply i only put 2 litres in had about 3-4 gallons in there tank already. My friend says it could be the fuel pump but the car has never even spluttered before.

if you here the fuelpump humming for a second or two,when u turn the keyswitch on,its ok
