My ABS indicator lights up from time to time

Asked by KER May 13, 2010 at 03:39 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Venture

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have just replaced my 4 wheel bearings (Hub assembly with ABS) on my 99 venture but after a month my ABS indicator keeps on lighting up. Although my brakes  are still working I believe the anti-lock system is not. How can I correct this? Do this have some connection with my brake linings? Can any body help me with this pls. Thanks...

I would check to make sure that there is no open or broken connection and that the connections are tight in the circuit from the ABS module. It may not be a bad idea to see if there is continuity in each hub to make sure that they are not defective.

Hi Danny, I have the same problem. If it persists despite connection continuity will replacing the ABS harness be a good next step? Is it cheap?
