Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2007 4Runner,v8, when air conditioner comes on idle jumps over 200-300 RPM's and the vehicle wants to cross the intersection. Takes effort to press on brake pedal. Dealer says its within limits. Didnt do it when it was new (has 7000 miles now). Idle speed in neutral with air on is 1,000 rpm's. Anyone have any feedback on the problem?

Thanks

That sounds right, when you kick on the AC, the engine "bumps" up the idle. But as seeing as your truck is "new" and still covered by warranty, you might want to talk to the service manager. Explain your worries and go for a drive with him, let him drive. But I do know that the RPM is normal and you will need to put a little more pressure on the brake pedal, maybe you just need a quick brake adjustment. Best of luck
