I have a 1989 LeBaron conv. that I need the drive gear for the odometer. Has anyone replaced this part?

I've had mine replaced in the shop, but it has not cured the odometer problems I had, nor has it cured an odd whine coming from the sender unit (caused by a failed oil seal ?) £154 inclusive in the shop... No warranty or guarantee was given.
