Is buying a 1988 le baron for $1000 with 244k miles on it worth it?

Asked by Nate May 04, 2012 at 03:13 PM about the 1988 Chrysler Le Baron

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

The car so far has no ac and has a 244k miles. It also
has some ware and tare on the body but as far as I
know the engine is okay. Is it worth buying with all
the miles on it and is it going to give out on me?!
Please first car and I'm a broke college student!!

yeah, even IF the engine and tranny were taken care of meticulously, other parts would wear out on ya left and right. (wheel bearings, struts, anything on the accessory drive, etc) which would be ok (i guess if u REALLY wanted the car) if u did your own work to it.

I would think so also, I have a 1994 Chrysler Le Baron, less than 200,000 miles on it, Always garaged everything works, non smoker, leather interior. having issues with the transmission we bought. Landau Top ect. infiniti stereo. I Love My Car. Was told blue book is less than 2000.00 but in the condition it is in I would think it is worth more.
