Why would my heater not be working...the car also overheats..coolant was circulating as well as fan blowing

Most likely a plugged heater core if all of the doors sre functioning.

Sounds like you're low on coolant. Fill and bleed the air out of the system. Check for leaks after you're done. HTH. -Jim
