the dealer put a new alternator and now the radio only shows lock

You will need to get the code from the dealer from whom you bought the radio. They have little credit cards that contain the number and code.
If you cannot contact the dealer, then you may want to try contacting Chevy directly with the VIN from your car. They may be able to give you the code.
