Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm looking at an '85 Seville with a blown HT4100. What engine
would be a direct replacement? This is a very nice, low mileage,
unmolested car. I'd want to do the swap with as little
modifications as possible but at the same time install a better
engine than the ill-fated HT4100. I'm thinking of the Cadillac V8
368. Anybody done this? What all is involved? Is another engine
a better choice? Any insight is greatly appreciated. -Jim

You are going to have to do some research to find a replacement. I've had good luck with car-part.com, a network of salvagers who keep track of what they have....at least phone numbers for actual salvagers-
