Why is my spedometer stuck on 50.  It won't go down to 0.  I have no idea how fast I am going?

I have a 4x4 2005 burb just today I noticed the spedometer started on 50 and woulg go up when I excelled.  It never went down to 0.  What would cause this?  And how do I go about fixing it?

Sounds like the speedometer assembly in the dash cluster is fried.  You will need to get a rebuilt unit, available from various places online (search google for "Suburban dash cluster rebuild" or similar) or get a factory unit from a GM dealer.  You may want to go for the rebuilt because, while the problem is most likely the speedometer portion of the cluster, the printed circuit or one of the resistors on the printed circuit may be fried, in which case putting a new speedometer assembly on will not solve the problem.
