I am looking at buying a Subaru Impreza 2007, wanted to know how reliable they are and how hungry they are on gas?

The car is a 20S Hatch, Tiptronic Auto with only 95,052 km and is really clean inside and outside.

The big issues with Subarus is head gaskets and rust. If the head gaskets haven't been replaced they likely soon will. I would spend a few bucks and take the car to a trusted mechanic to give it a good looking over.

Is it a bit of a hit and a miss with the head gaskets? It is a newly import from Japan and by the report there isn't any rust yet.
