i have a 8v which came stock with square lights. how can i get my hands on round light grill and lights to fit my 1985?

They stil make those brand new in South Africa and are not to expensive

You need to buy a the grill or modify one from another gen. I doubt you'll have much luck at a junkyard, but you can try.

A local shop here: www.concept1.ca sells the kits. Maybe try to find a local vw part shop.
