what alternator model do you have (SOME) models have a small placard on the alternator with the specifications, amp ratings, model# and serial#. However I do know alldata has manufacturer testing procedures so don't full field alternator unless manufacturer says to for testing many alternators have bit the dust that way

there are other testing methods available as easily as removing the alternator (2 bolts and 1 plug on some models) and taking it to a local auto parts store and having it tested SOME even test it for FREE
