Is my 1969 VW Bug 6 volt or 12 volt

My head lights dim at idle.

Look at the battery- it will say- but I can tell you that by 1969, everything was 12 volt- as for the dimming lights, check your voltage regulator-

alternator issue on that point of fact so yea check the regulator the brushes may be worn out.
