gas milage for 68 stock vw 1595 single port

engine is a 1967 1595cc , single port heads, stock carb , electronic petronix ignition

Depending on how you drive it, you can get about 25 - 28 mpg, maybe 30+; mileage in those older cars sometimes varies. Do you still have the stock distributor? As in with the vacuum advance still intact, not an all mechanical dizzy like a 009 (common replacement for a stock one). I know my 66 with it's 1776 still manages 25 to 27 mpg if i keep my foot out of it Hope this helps

My 73 Super Beetle gets about 30 MPG on the highway and about 24-27 in the city I try to not go over 65 on the highway as anything above 60 tends to just eat up that Detroit perfume.....
