whats wrong with my alarm system

Why has the thing by the sunroof which used to illuminate and show how many gallons unitl empty has stoped working and is stuck on 85 gallons and dosn't light up any more.

Also when I push the remote the lights used to flash when I lock the doors, now it only flashes when I push the remote to open the car.
