Mercedes CLK 200K ABS, BAS, ESP lights came on.
is there any degridation in performance? sounds to me like it's in 'test mode' when the key is first put in, to make sure they all work...stuck in this mode. perhaps the milage has made toast of your ignition switch-
when i put the key in and switch the ignition on, all these lights come up.
Could it be a 200K service reminder? Maybe all those systems are bad. Get the codes read.
I had a similar problem with my 97 E420. In my situation, it turned out to be the K40 relay module.
If those reminders stay on after starting, it might be possible that the ABS Front Wheel Speed Sensor are defective
SOUNDS LIKE ITS IN THE COMPUTER,OR THE RELAY MODULE NEEDA TO BE REPLACED.
It's the brake light switch. The part costs $20-30 and you can install it yourself (under the driver side dash, just need a screwdriver to get to it). It's not difficult other than the fact that you have limited space to work with. Mercs around this time are notorious for this. My 02 CLK 320 has had this problem several times. About to change it for my third or fourth time now. Works for about a year, then toast.
