where is the oil filter located on the 2L 2001 cabrio engine?

Hello, I'm not sure about the 2001 Cabrio, but check to either side of the engine. The filter should be sitting directly next to it. Best of luck! CarGrrl

Thanks for the response. I buried my head under the car and found the oil filter above a cross-brace - just enough room to remove and install without the benefit of a standard removal/install tool. I found the old filter loose enough to have let oil leak out slowly! I tightened the new filter as tight as I could with my hands. I hope it stays put. Thanks again. Jonathan

Jonathan, try to get it a little tighter using an oil wrench. The ones that clamp onto the end of the new oil filter are better than the ones that grip it from around its middle--in the case of the cabrio filter replacment.
