Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Electric cooling fans will not shut off.  Do not have a fuse layout either.  Any info would be great.

Since this system is meant to operate even with the key in the off position There is a cooling fan module that takes the input of the cooling fan switch in the radiator and determines to operate the fan or not. Locate the fan switch - it may be shorted keeping the fan on OR it could be the control module itself. More information on engine would help tell which system you have.

Please go to this site and write your experience about this problem with the cooling fans. It seems to be an ongoing problem with Volkswagen. http://www.ripoffreport.com/Auto-Warranty/-Volkswagen-of-Ameri/-Volkswagen-of-America-Poor-C-F95FA.htm
