Looks like a 5.8L (351W) . Judging by the picture - that's one turd I wouldn't try to polish. LOTS of work.

put in an engine from either a chevrolet c/k 1500 or 2500 or a gmc sierra c/k 1500 or 2500 from the year 1988-1994. I know you might say thats a chevy engine in a ford but that chevy engine thats in those trucks will last you way longer than that engine you got in that ford of yours.you have severall options a 4.3 liter V6 ENGINE with a 5 speed manual transmission or a 4 speed automatic transmission. you also could get a 4x4 engine and trany thats a 6. theirs also is 5.0 liter V8 with a 5 speed trany. or you could just get the automatic. dont forget you could allways get the 4x4 edition in all these motors if you wnt. these motors last up to 400,000+ miles and much more with proper maintainance.these engines will cost you less than $1000 dollars to find with plenty of life in them to use.in 1995-1998 they started using the vortec engine its what modern chevys and gmcs have now in days.in 1988-1994 they had fuel injection in 1995 they stopped that and wet for something more eficient.but any engine from 1988-1998 are great long lasting engines.
